About CAPR

Department of Public Relations (PR) is one of the six departments in Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts (CA); hence, we love to called ourselves CAPR.

Concerning the ever shifting communications landscape, public relations has been evolved continuously. The changes in communication method is a massive opportunity for PR professionals to go beyond the traditional and become a master of crafting the news.

Recognizing the shift in communication trend, CAPR designs its curriculum to enable students in handling any challenges they will face as PR practitioners.

THE VISION

Department of Public Relations, Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts  aims to produce well-rounded, global-minded, people-oriented, ethically and socially responsible graduates who practice public relations professionally in diverse areas and who are aware of the global changes that impact the public relations profession.

What is the difference between PR and Advertising?

Both PR and Advertising are about the popularity and the image of the company. However, while Advertising is  focusing on creating paid announcements to be promoted through different types of media including online, print, TV, out-of-home and radio. PR, on the other hand, is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organisations and the public.
